How things usually work at other law firms:

The traditional way to hire a lawyer to represent you for a court case is this: You prepay a law firm for its hourly work by paying a large retainer or deposit up-front, usually $5,000 or $10,000. The lawyers for that firm bill their hourly rates against the deposit, which can range from $250/hr to $600/hr. As work is completed on your case, your deposit gets lower and lower. Eventually, the law firm will tell you to “replenish” the deposit. So, you pay another $5,000 or $10,000, over and over and over again. Eventually, usually after you have already paid a ton of money, the case will go to trial and the law firm will tell you to pay them a larger retainer to cover trial expenses. So you pay them between $30,000 and $50,000. By the time the case is over, what started as a $5,000 retainer cost you over $100,000.

This is what James (the founder of Regnum Legacy) did for nearly 10-years. It made him sick to know that a client with a good, and winnable case could no longer afford to pay him. Or worse, that the clients paid him more than the case was worth.

This traditional way of handling a case is like going to a restaurant, paying an upfront fee, but not getting to see the menu. Instead, the restaurant just brings you food (often without letting you pick the ingredients). When the food comes you get another bill. You are told that the food prepared is “top quality” and was more expensive than anticipated. So you pay the additional bill. And the restaurant keeps bringing you food, even if your full. You never know what’s coming out next, or how much it will cost. When the meal is over, you’re broke, overstuffed, and there’s plenty of food left over you didn’t want, couldn’t eat, and can’t take home.

How things work at Regnum Legacy:

After years of dissatisfaction with the “traditional” way, James broke free and started a new model. At Regnum Legacy YOU are in the driver’s seat. Regnum Legacy DOES NOT represent clients in court. Instead, Regnum Legacy helps you help yourself. This comes at a significant advantage to you.

First, even though Judges say they do not give special treatment to people who represent themselves, in reality, they do. So, representing yourself could tip the scales in your favor, all else being equal.

Second, with the help of Regnum Legacy, you will know what to file, when to file it, and the relative strength and weakness of your case.

Third, other lawyers will underestimate you. You will have the element of surprise by using Regnum Legacy as your ghost writer/litigator.

How it works:

Regnum Legacy has compartmentalized the typical portions of a case so you can choose exactly what you want us to do. If you have a litigated case, you can hire Regnum Legacy to help you with a variety of case related tasks. This reduces your stress, but also saves you a ton of money. You simply choose the tasks you want Regnum Legacy to do for you. If you need help drafting a petition in probate, we can do that for you to file. If you have been sued in probate, you can ask us to evaluate the case and recommend options, or have us draft the response.

Most importantly, Regnum Legacy does all this for an upfront fixed fee. So you know exactly what it will cost, whether you can afford it, and make better financial decision for your case and your family.

We have a complete “menu” of options for you to choose from. You pick your own fee, and the service you want. It’s that simple.

We also have a monthly subscription for litigation coaching, which includes unlimited calls, zoom chats, office visits, and document review.

We only represent clients in the probate court. So, if you have a family law, criminal law, or civil law matter we cannot accept your case.
